Made in France in 1780, this snuff box of gold and enamel depicts a scene of an allegory of Peace. The box was a birthday gift from King George V in 1934. During the early 1930’s Queen Mary amassed a huge collection of antique snuffboxes, and was, no doubt, thrilled with the gift.
